Young Platform has obtained MiCA license

Consob authorises Young Platform, an industry leader in Italy, to operate
as a crypto-asset service provider (CASP). The authorisation covers
eight of ten services — among the broadest scopes applied for in the
Italian market.

Turin, 30 June 2026 – Young Platform S.p.A., in which Azimut holds a stake, announces that it has obtained authorisation from Consob to operate as a crypto-asset service provider (CASP) under Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (“MiCAR”), the framework that provides harmonised regulation of the crypto-asset market across the European Union. The authorisation was granted by formal decision of Consob.

Young Platform’s CASP authorisation comes in the context of the implementation of the MiCAR Regulation, whose transition period for crypto-asset service providers officially closes today, 30 June 2026. From this deadline onward, holding such a licence becomes an indispensable requirement for operating lawfully in the European Union market. By issuing this decision, Young Platform ensures full operational continuity for its customers.

The authorisation granted is broad in scope: Young Platform will be able to offer eight of ten crypto-asset services — almost the entire range of activities regulated by MiCAR — rather than being confined to a single segment. The aim is to support people at every stage of their relationship with crypto-assets, within a single regulated perimeter.

The customer journey begins with the custody and administration of crypto-assets (a), which the company safeguards and holds on behalf of clients, and continues with the execution of buy and sell orders (e) on Young Platform’s infrastructure. Alongside this come the exchange of crypto-assets (c, d) — both for legal-tender currency and for other crypto-assets — and their secure transfer (j) to and from external wallets and platforms, with precise tracking of every movement.

In the area of higher-value-added services, the authorisation enables personalised advice on crypto-assets (h) and portfolio management (i). The picture is completed by the placement service (f), through which Young Platform markets new third-party crypto-assets to its clients on behalf of the offeror. It is a tool designed for those wishing to bring a new token to market by relying on an authorised operator and a regulated distribution channel, within the categories set out in MiCAR (currently comprising utility tokens, asset-referenced tokens (ARTs) and e-money tokens (EMTs)). For issuers, it means reaching a large and already active community; for clients, curated access to new opportunities.

Such a wide range translates, for the customer, into a single point of reference: there is no need to turn to different operators to buy, hold, get guidance or launch a new project, because every service is available within a single authorised and supervised environment.

This is an offering that does not look solely to the retail public. Alongside private individuals, Young Platform serves a well-established base of business and institutional clients — companies that use the platform to manage collections and payments in crypto-assets and to diversify their treasury. It is precisely for this reason that several of the authorised services have also been conceived with a “corporate” focus, supported by tools dedicated to professional clients, such as the automatic conversion of collections into euros, the structured management of sub-accounts, and OTC operations on significant amounts. The MiCAR authorisation thus reinforces the Company’s ability to support these operators too, within a fully regulated framework.

“Obtaining MiCAR authorisation — and over such a broad scope — is the recognition of a path we have been pursuing for years: building an Italian company that puts customer protection and respect for the rules first,” says Alexandru Stefan Gheban, Co-CEO and co-founder of Young Platform. “We are able to support users in an ever more complete way along their entire journey with crypto-assets, operating within a transparent and certifiable system of safeguards. And thanks to the European passporting regime provided for by MiCAR, this authorisation allows us to look beyond national borders, bringing our services to other countries in the Union as well: this is the starting point for our international expansion,” adds Andrea Ferrero, Co-CEO and co-founder of the Company.

During the authorisation process, the company was supported, in the capacity of Chief Legal Officer, by lawyer Alessandro Negri della Torre, founder and managing partner of the law firm LX20 Law Firm, by the law firm Pedersoli & Gattai, and by the Company’s in-house legal team.
